Kia is keeping the momentum going after the major debut of the 2027 Telluride at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Just weeks later, the company is shifting attention to the opposite end of its SUV lineup with the very first look at the fully redesigned 2027 Kia Seltos.

The Seltos has been one of Kia’s most important small SUVs since it hit U.S. showrooms back in 2020. It quickly became popular for offering all-wheel drive at an affordable price, something few subcompact SUVs could match. Now, Kia is preparing to elevate the Seltos in a big way with a complete redesign that appears to draw heavy inspiration from its largest SUV, the Telluride.

A Fresh New Look, Inspired by the Telluride

The first teaser images make it very clear: the 2027 Seltos has grown up. The headlights and taillights now feature bold vertical lighting elements, similar to the premium style seen on the new Telluride. The daytime running lights also get a distinctive new signature that helps the Seltos stand out from other small SUVs.

One of the most noticeable changes is the more dramatic “floating roof” design. Kia has blacked out the D-pillar area and added a strip of silver trim above the windows, making the roof look visually separated from the body. This design cue gives the Seltos a more upscale, modern profile.

Another big upgrade is the switch to flush-mounted door handles, just like the new Telluride. This not only looks sleek but could also help with aerodynamics.
