The Rolls-Royce Cullinan, the brand’s first-ever SUV, is slowly reaching the end of its current generation. While the luxury automaker has not officially revealed the next model yet, testing of the new Cullinan is already underway. Thanks to spy shots and realistic digital renderings, we now have a clearer idea of what the 2028 Rolls-Royce Cullinan could look like.

Recently spotted during cold-weather testing earlier this month, the next-generation Cullinan appears to stay very close to the design of the current model. Instead of a radical redesign, Rolls-Royce seems to be taking an evolutionary approach, refining what already works rather than reinventing the SUV completely.

Digital artist Kelsonik analyzed the spy photos and created realistic CGI renderings that show how the upcoming Cullinan may look once it reaches production. At first glance, the changes are subtle, and the overall shape remains familiar.

At the front, the 2028 Cullinan is expected to feature a split headlight design. Thin LED daytime running lights sit at the top, while the main headlights are placed lower in the bumper. This design trend is becoming more common across luxury brands. The iconic Rolls-Royce grille remains large and upright, keeping the vehicle’s strong and commanding presence intact. The front bumper also looks cleaner, with a wide lower air intake and fewer side vents than before.

From the side, the changes become easier to spot. The windows appear slightly shorter, giving the SUV a more modern and dynamic look. The door lines are completely new, but one classic Rolls-Royce feature stays unchanged: the rear-hinged “suicide” doors, which continue to open in the opposite direction for easier access and added elegance.

The rear pillars look thicker this time, which may slightly reduce rear visibility. However, this should not be a major issue thanks to modern driver-assistance systems and cameras. Ground clearance appears to remain similar to the current Cullinan, meaning it will still handle rough roads and light off-road use with ease.

At the back, the Cullinan keeps its vertical LED taillights, but they now appear taller than before. Another noticeable change is the relocation of the license plate, which has moved from the tailgate down to the rear bumper. These updates give the rear end a cleaner and more premium look without straying too far from the original design.

One of the biggest changes, however, is not visible from the outside.

The next-generation Rolls-Royce Cullinan is expected to be fully electric. This move aligns with Rolls-Royce’s long-term plan to transition its entire lineup to electric power. For comparison, the Spectre produces 577 horsepower, while the Black Badge version offers 650 horsepower. The current Cullinan, powered by a 6.75-liter twin-turbo V12 engine, delivers up to 592 horsepower in Black Badge form. The upcoming electric Cullinan is expected to outperform both.

Details such as battery size, driving range, charging times, and exact performance figures have not been revealed yet. Rolls-Royce is likely to share this information closer to the vehicle’s official debut.

According to current reports, the next-generation Cullinan will not arrive before 2028, meaning the existing model still has some time left on the market. Until then, these realistic renderings give us a strong preview of what’s to come.
